Turmeric Restaurant
Designing the website and menu for a local restaurant to help boost the business. www.turmeric.cz

Tools: Figma, Framer
Duration: 2 weeks
This was a design project for the local Indian restaurant in Prague. The project had 2 parts, creating a website (which was more of a standard UX/UI work) and creating a full restaurant menu (more of a graphich design work).
The main goals of the website and the client's requirements were simple. It is supposed to be a simple one-page website, presenting the restaurant, showcasing the menu, and offering a simple way to book tables.
Creating design system and color scheme
The client already had a logo but no other visual identity or assets. Since the logo was based on black and gold colors, I decided to go from there. I focused on creating a subtle and elegant color scheme that would be usable for both the website and the menu.
The same goes for the typography. I paired the serif font used for headings with a sans serif for readability and a stylish look that was preferred.

Website design
The main part of the design has been done in Figma and then transferred to Framer where the website is deployed.
Since the request was to keep the website to one page, I included the menu as a PDF download to eliminate the need for extra pages.
With the website, a standard UX process of exploration and ideation has been followed, with the discussions with the client in between. The design stayed in an elegant style that was preferred by the client.
Here is the final wireframe that we agreed on (click to see the full preview).

The website structure follows the main goal of showcasing the menu and option to reserve a table (main CTAs) with the necessary information about the restaurant, such as contacts and the map with the location below.
The menu design followed the same process. The idea was to present the special dishes on the first or first two pages of the menu. Client was also keen on including images of food in the menu; however, upon discussions, this was abandoned as this would make the menu too long, while already being 13 standard pages.
Here are the final designs.

Key takeaways and next steps
This was a very smooth project with good client cooperation, it was important that the regular meetings were held, which ensured the designs were to the client's liking and any issues were addressed ahead.
Also, this was the first time for me when I implemented and deployed a fully functioning app using AI, although a very simple one, this was a fun project to do.
As this is a very recent project, the next steps will be deploying the analytics tool and monitoring the performance of the website and the impact on reservations. I will also be improving the SEO of the website as needed.

Reservation system
First, it was decided to use a paid 3rd party reservation system instead of building one as part of the website, however, I later decided to custom-build it from scratch using AI and link it to the website.
I created this reservation system using Lovable in only a few hours and connected to emailJS for full functionality: https://turmeric-reservations.lovable.app/turmeric-reservations.lovable.ap
